The Reason

I originally started this blog as a writing exercise – a way to articulate and lay out my thoughts in some kind of structured fashion, in the hopes that it would keep my turns of phrase sharp and lead to further understanding about the ideas themselves.

I recently acquired the domain ‘tjdempsey.com’, and with it a desire to remodel this site. As of now, this site is more of an experimental space, where I can learn a little bit more about WordPress and express myself more creatively. Eventually, it might be a place where I can point people to in order to learn more about me.

I’m currently studying a degree in computing at Curtin University, with the aim of making it as a computer scientist in some capacity – whether that be in cybersecurity or software engineering.

I created this website with no particular intention to share it with the world, although I do feel the desire to do so sometimes. I have a keen interest in history and philosophy, so many of the posts on here touch on those topics.

I write for myself, and one day I might write for others. Welcome.
